Automated Trading Software

The Greyhorse bot.
We have been trialing the Greyhorse bot for over a month now. If you are serious about making a profit from racing this is the best piece of software that you can get. Easy to use, completely safe, links to both Betfair and Betdaq, backs, lays, trades, dutches the list goes on. The software support that malcom offers is second to none. You are not bombarded with a whole lot of technical talk just down to earth advice and solutions. The videos are really great and if you have 2 monitors it makes life easy as you can run the bot whilst viewing the video. Even the PFD manual is easy to use. Not convinced! please read on:

Are betting bots safe?

I often see post or emails where people make a point of saying that they do not trust bots to do their betting for them and although I agree that there are times when a human could bet more successfully than a betting bot, what I would like to do is discuss the main arguments against using such a tool.

The most popular argument is.
"You can not trust a programme to bet for you"

This is actually almost a laughable argument. If you are betting on the net then you are using several programs that are betting for you. There is the database behind the whole website, there is the programming that brings that information to the website and then there is the interface browser you are using to place the bet through.

Every time you click a button, there are further programs that are used to carry out your instructions.

So unless you are going to walk into a high street bookie or do your betting over the telephone, you have no choice but to use programs to bet for you.

Betting Bots are safe!

There may well be Betting Bots out there that have not been programmed properly but the majority of the well known ones have had stringent testing. Take GHB for an example. GHB is a verified product that works through Betfair's official API.

API stands for "Application Programming Interface" and is a set of instructions that are hosted on a secure (HTTPS:) network that is provided to Betfair's official partners.

GHB has an official Vendor ID because it has passed through Betfair's security test which has verified it works properly and securely with their API.

Another argument is:

"Betting Bots could easily bet away, all of my bank."

GHB comes with several features that you can set to tell the bot to stop if you have reached or exceeded a certain loss value and/or a number of losses in a row or over a period. Stop Loss was the first thing we put into GHB!

Now that we have seen the arguments against using a betting bot, let us now look at some of the reasons why it could be a good idea to use one.

In all my years in this industry the one thing I seen over and over again is that people do not use their head when betting, to often you see people do silly things because their emotions take over.

So often you see people taking a loss and then just making another silly bet to try and get that back. I bet you have, or you know of someone who has lost on a "lay" bet and then tried chasing their losses on the next race, only to lose again and sometimes again.

Also how often do you have an odds range in your head that you do not want to exceed or go under but then an opportunity comes up and you just can not resist taking the chance with an extra few points. Betting bots like GHB can be configured to only bet with in your range and won't go outside it.

Betting bots are not emotional they do what you tell them to do. If you only want to bet on one race, then that's what they will do. If you want to stop after one loss or even one win, that's what they will do.

Most people complain that they don't have enough time to bet. Betting bots like GHB can automate your betting so you don't have to be there to place your bets. You just tell it what to bet on, the price range and if you want to, you can configure a number of other variables and then just click "start", GHB will do the rest.

Another really good thing about using a betting bot is its speed. Especially "in running" where a betting bot like GHB has a far better chance of seeing the odds or the pattern you are looking for and making the bet in time, while the odds are still available.

I could come up with another dozen reasons why I think betting bots have their place. I am not saying that they suit every style of betting but what I can not agree with is, that "they can not be trusted".

Check out GHB to see a good quality product that has an official Betfair Vendor ID.
